Whistleblowing Policy

British and Malayan Trustees Limited is committed to maintaining high standard of integrity in its business conduct.

All employees and any other persons may file a whistle-blowing report to British and Malayan Trustees Limited or British and Malayan Holdings Limited. They can send an email or a letter to the following addresses:

  1. Via Whistleblowing Hotline:
    • Chairman of BMH Audit Risk Committee (“ARC”)
    • Group CEO of BMH and BMT (only if the whistleblowing incident is not related to the Group CEO)
    • Executive Director or Resident Manager of BMT (only if the whistleblowing incident is not related to the Executive Director or Resident Manager)

To facilitate the investigation of the whistleblowing, whistle-blowers are encouraged to provide their names and contact details. The group commits to ensure all disclosed information, including the identity of the whistleblower shall be treated with strict confidentiality at all times.

All officers, directly or indirectly working on the whistleblowing case, shall strictly protect the identity of the whistleblower and the group is also committed to protect the whistleblower from all acts of harassment, retaliation, victimization, and recrimination arising from making the disclosure in good faith.

The protection of the whistleblower shall be removed if it is found that he/she was also involved with the improper conduct, or if the whistleblower is found to have made the disclosures in bad faith.

All whistle-blower reports received will be investigated promptly, professionally, fairly, and honestly. The matter may be escalated to the relevant law enforcement authorities for their investigation / further action, if this is appropriate.

Findings from the investigations and the follow-up actions will be reported to BMH’s Audit Risk Committee.
